What is a Concentration? (Clare Kuo)

1. http://www.clarekuo.com/ ; Artist: Clare Kuo

2. I think the artist's underlying idea in her work is to create industrial looking paintings using shapes and mostly primary colors. All of her pieces are very bold and feel worn.

3. The artist creates visual coherence by using the same colors and shapes in all of her pieces. The placement of the shapes is different, and the sizes of the paintings are different. But, other than that, her pieces are very similar.

4. This artists uses color and shape in her pieces. The way she paints also creates some texture in her paintings.

What is a Concentration? (David Gillanders)

2. I think the underlying idea in this artist's work is to create movement in his pieces. All 3 of the pieces are made with brush strokes that make the picture look like it is blurring or like it is moving.

3. The artist creates visual coherence by using the same type of brush strokes in all 3 of the pieces.

4. This artist uses color in his paintings. He also has value and shape in his pieces.

What is a Concentration? (Garin Barker)

2. I believe the underlying idea in this work is to paint realistic city scenes using vivid colors. All 3 of these paintings look like they could be photographs and have a lot of great details.

3. The artist creates a visual coherence by painting city scenes in all of his work. All of the paintings feel like they are of the same place.

4. This artist uses a lot of color in his work. Also, he creates and uses space in all 3 pieces.
